Opportunities for partnership between Tunisia and IBM looked at
TUNIS, Dec. 17, 2009 (TAP)- Minister of Communication Technologies El Hadj Gley received, on Wednesday in Tunis, Mr. Robert S. Sutor, worldwide Vice-President of IBM, responsible for "Open Source" and "Linux" developments.
The talk looked at projects and programmes likely to strengthen partnership between Tunisia and multinational IBM, particularly in technological innovation platforms " Open Technologies" and the certification system and process for companies operating in ICTs as well as university graduates engineers and technicians.
The minister stressed the wide prospects for developing the ICTs sector and its strategic nature as part of the goals set by President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali in his electoral programme "Together, We Meet Challenges."
Mr. Robert S. Sutor emphasised the great potential of Tunisia in innovating sectors and his company's interest in strengthening partnership with companies operating in ICTs, particularly in the areas of freeware and qualification training.
The talk was attended by Mrs. Lamia Chaffai Sghaier, Secretary of State in charge of Information Technology, Internet and Freeware.
