International cooperation and partnership
A Conducive Framework to International Cooperation:
The Ministry of Communication Technologies is involved in identifying, preparing, and establishing numerous cooperation actions in the field of Open Source Software. Hence, several initiatives, conventions, frameworks, and agreement protocols have been built. Some are listed hereafter:
The establishment of several cooperation agreements with ElGazala Technology Center:
- Agreement with Marseille-Provence Technopole at Chateau Gombert (France), aiming at setting up a co-incubation program involving Marseille Innovation business nursery and the Cyberparks of ElGhazala Technopole. The program should especially benefit enterprises operating in Open Source Software.
- Agreement with the competitiveness cluster SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION (France) to facilitate the extension of company activities in both countries, and to establish structuring actions.
The participation to international conferences and events related to Open Source technologies as part of the strategic orientation for the international positioning of the tunisian experience in this field. As such, Tunisia was the guest of honor at the 1st Professional Exhibition for Free Software and Open Source organized in October 2007 by LIBERTIS (the operational network of the societies of open source software services) and at Synergie-NTIC Exhibition that took place in October 2008. An important delegation composed of high officials and leaders of Tunisian enterprises took part in this event.
The organization of thematic conferences and workshops with the participation of a wide range of Open Source actors and profiles in order to establish and diversify partnerships and cooperation.
Various assistance and support actions are undertaken for the benefit of small enterprises and communities operating in Open Source Software.
Perspectives of Cooperation and Partnership
To diversify our partnerships by adopting a selective approach that considers the international competitive advantages of some countries while ensuring a transfer of technology and efficient know-how related to Open Source Software.
To intervene in partnership with other institutions or foreign organizations, public and private, according to the most adaptable strategy for implementing the Open Source Software National Plan in Tunisia.
To put into practice a twin institution based on regular exchange of: study visits, expertise, best practices, seminars, etc.
